Frozen fillet

All it will have lost is quality. It will be entirely safe to eat.

It might be a bit drier than if you'd used it earlier but should taste fine, especially if it was well wrapped. You can't possibly waste it!

Fillet

Happy, you mention cooking it really well. Do Not Overcook it; fillet should be rare.

If you 'cook it really well' you will waste it!

If you are in any doubt, thaw it and cut the merest slice off the end and cook it simply. The fillet will hold for a couple of days in the fridge if it was fresh when it went in the freezer.

You are a lovely lot, thank you so much for taking the trouble to reply and putting my mind at rest, will now cook it for the family, and make that a special occasion! Thanks again
