Meat Balls

I have some meatballs languishing in the freezer and would like to make a tasty mushroom sauce to cook them in. Does any one have a quick recipe for this? Thanks

a mushroom sauce is not something i have ever married with meatballs.

but, i can highly recommend a recipe for a creamy mushroom sauce from bbc food.

do a google search for bbc food creamy mushroom sauce (i can't give you the link as per delia rules, but its easy to find)

the sauce goes beautifully with steak and chicken.

you do not need to use wine, you can swap it for chicken stock.

I make my own mushroom sauce which goes particularly well with pork. I caramelise some onions and add some sugar, add mushrooms, then flour, stir it around so the onions and mushrooms are coated , then I add cider just enough to thicken , and then some creme fraiche .
