I need to know if the recipe I have for a Madeira cake with margarine can be substituted for butter

I am making a birthday cake for my grandaughter in two tiers I was given an email response but could not retrieve it after seven attempts . Please can reply again so I can read the recipe

Madeira cake

I use a recipe that has 175g room temp butter, 175g golden caster sugar, 3 large eggs, 250g SR flour, 2-3 tbsp milk.

mix in the usual way, by cream butter and sugar, adding eggs one at a time, then adding in a tablespoon of flour at a time. grease and line a 7 inch tin, cook for 30-40 mins at 180c (fan). until skewer comes out clean.
