Shepherd's Pie.

There is a freezing section on this site that gives you specific instructions for each of the recipes on the site, so the info will be listed there.

I have frozen a standard shepherds pie though without any problems.

Shepherds pie with cheese crusted leeks

firstly, I would recommend putting your leeks in a pan of boiling water for 2 mins, then drain and allow to cool, before adding to the potato top, rtaher than leaving them raw.

secondly, yes to answer your question, you can freeze it all assembled, allowed to totally cool, cover and freeze. No need to cook it first, other than the filling and mashing the spuds that is.

You can cook from frozen, but it will take a long time (a good hour)and you will need to cover it with tin foil about half way through, or allow to defrost in fridge and cook for about 30-40 mins, depending on how big you have made your pies, I always make the whole recipe then put into 2 pyrex dishes, one for "today" and the other for the freezer.
