Date, apple & walnut loaf

We love this cake in our house, but when I make it, it is very crumbly, almost impossible to cut into slices. Anyone any advice for me on how to resolve the crumbliness?

I would pick out the largest eggs from a box of large eggs or even buy extra-large eggs. In Delia's new book she has an apricot and pecan version of this cake which I made and it was really good. She makes her loaf cakes using parchment loaf tin liners too which think works really well. Sometimes when a cake is a bit too crumbly to cut a neat slice I chill it in the fridge for a while.

Thanks a million and I will certainly try larger eggs. The fridge is where we tend to keep this cake at the moment.
