Making the substitution

I would like your help, is that my husband is diabetic and here at home we only use sweetener, I've tried to do some simple sponge cakes but could not even the right dosage for subistituir sugar, can anyone give me an idea of the exchange rate at least once a month I would give this to my husband happy, thank you all.

Substituting

Hi Anna, first of all are you in England or Portugal? and is your husband type1 or type2 diabetic. If you are in England most of the sugar substitutes tell you on the packaging how much sweetener to use in place of the weight of sugar. Some sweeteners are a powder, others are granuals. A good diabetic cookery book will tell you what you need to know about making sweet things for sufferers (Anthony Worral-Thomson did one).
