Lids for preserves

I have just bought a dozen 250 mil jars with red and white checked lids (lined )but didn't notice that they don't have the pop up/down seal in the middle of the lid . Can I use these for my tomato and chill chutney . i usually heat the jars in the microwave for 5 mins and fill with red hot chutney before putting the lids on . When they cool the center of the lid pop down showing me its sealed . Does anyone know the situation with these ordinary lids ??
Many Thanks

Totally safe

Ordinary lids are very safe , I use them most of the time.
Just make sure that they are sterilised before you use them.i tend to put mine in a bowl then cover with boiling water , then I dry each one as I use them.
