Microwave not steam?

Would like to make steak/kidney pud and other steamed sweet puddongs but would rather not use all that gas on a consistent basis. Anyone any idea how long it would take to do them in the microwave? Cheers

microwave pudding

I have a recipe that cooks a 'steamed pudding' in the microwave. It takes about 4/5 minutes.

100g/4oz self raising flour
50g/2oz suet
25g/1oz caster sugar
25g/1oz dark brown soft sugar
1 tsp baking powder
75ml/3fl oz milk
1 beaten egg
1 tsp vanilla esence

Grease 900ml/1&half pt pudding basin
sift flour into a bowl and add sugars, suet and baking powder. Mix together then add the milk egg and vanilla essence and mix well.
Spoon into the pudding basin, cover loosely with film and cook at med for 4 min then on high for 1 min.
leave to stand for a coule of minutes then turn out onto a plate.

hope this helps
