It says two large packs, so I assume two bars. If you want to get to the recipe, just highlight (to blue) and right click on it. it should ask so you want to go to it, click on the and it should take you to TC's recipe.

To get to past recipes click Community on the black bar above and on the right column you will find "Our Recipes" and underneath this heading it is broken down into starters mains desserts etc. just click on the one you want and you will find all the recipes submitted by forum members in alphabetical order by the name of the dish. It will identify which of us posted the recipe as well....Good Luck and enjoy looking through them, loads on there. Yummy

I've done this recipe a couple of times. The recipe states two large packs - sorry Yummy, not bars, but bags of cinder toffee. You used to be able to get it in Julian Graves, but they are no more. My local garden centre sells it. I'd say the bag sizes are roughly 150g.

The recipe is for a deep cheesecake. I've made two shallow ones with the same ingredients. It's very rich.

Thanks for putting it right Saffy, never made it myself, must say the recipe isn't too clear about which type and I thought it was the crunchie bars... hope I didn't mislead Wedding Cake too much....sorry x

no problemo amigo! I made this as one of the puds for Mum's 70th - went down a treat. Can't believe the last time I made it was nearly 6 years ago (there..... I've given the old bird's age away). Going to pick up some cinder toffee when I wander up to the garden centre and make it soon. A's 18th in three weeks and she adored this so I shall make it for her.

I made a note on the recipe to use between 300g and 400g of cinder toffee. The Julian Graves bags were 150g but used to be a bit bigger at Christmas for some reason and it tends to go soft if not used. You can often find it loose at old fashioned sweet shops which seem to be appearing in high streets and that's when I would buy 400g! It's also very nice crushed and stirred into home-made ice cream.

Thank you everyone for your tips. I put 900g in and everyone ate it. Used to get it at Julien Graves Romford but yes there are old fashioned sweetshops that sell it local highstreets, trouble is over a fortnight I bought almost the whole jar. Thanks again.

Hi WeddingCake,
Glad you found the recipe.
I use 2 bags of 150gms each as that's how it was sold in Julian Graves.
Hope you enjoy it and as a special treat try some ice cream with it, now that really is rich.

By the way, you can buy the cinder toffee on Amazon.

Very true Yummy but I have never managed to do a search on the members' recipes though. It would be nice if that would be possible just like one finds Delia's recipes with a certain ingredient. The possibility seems to exist but doesn't work!
