Could anyone please advise me, what does Delia mean in the Seville Orange Marmalade recipe when she says "lightly scrub the fruit". Does it mean to break the skin of the oranges, to score them with a knife? Any advice please

Just give them a clean, as you would any fruit or veg. No need to break the skin - you'll be peeling the oranges and shredding the peel anyway.
