Lacy cookies

OK-- I live in America but was born in the UK and I have lots of Delia's books. Cookie-- in the UK this would be referred to as a biscuit.

NOW-- here's my problem. When I was a kid we would occasionally have -or make-- those lovely lacy buttery cookies which are usually wrapped around the handle of a wooden spoon.

I have lots of ways of finding a recipe for them BUT I can't remember what their official name is! I'm old - and my memory is slow....

Can anybody remind me please!
Thanks
