Christmas cake just a little soggy in the middle now cut. Can anything be done? It's square so if we eat the edges first can I rebake the centre, wrapped in foil perhaps?

Soggy Christmas cake

If it really is too soggy, slice it neatly, fry in butter and serve with brandy sauce as a dessert.

Or turn it into a variation of bread and butter pudding.

Or put the soggy bit in a bowl and steam it for an hour, perhaps.

Try steaming

Same thing happened to me a few years ago. I steamed it and served it as a version of CHristmas pudding.
