Pitted dry-packed black olives

I have a chutney recipe that requires 2 x 4oz jars of pitted dry-packed black olives. Can I use a normal jar of olives? Why would it say dry-packed yet state I need 2 jars? Thank you kindly.

Don't know why the recipe specifies jars. I get pouches of dry-packed olives from Waitrose. Come black or green and they're (I buy only black) very nice.

Pitted Black Olives

There is clearly a mistake in the recipe, which would make me very dubious in even trying the chutney recipe out. Though maybe it's a typo. Ignore the word 'jars' and you should be fine.
