Does anyone have atip on how to keep the rubber seal of the washing machine clean. I try to keep it as dry as pos but it has stained black and feels a bit "scummy". Thanks in advance. P

Or even a tip!

Soda crystals - cheap as chips and a myriad of uses.

Rubber seals.

I agree with Sandra about using soda crstals. I use a hot water infusion to wipe around the machine but I also put a large tablespoon in detergent drawer when I wash linen and towels. It keeps the machine smelling sweet and also cleans the pipes. IT was a tip given to me by a washing machine engineer ( and he didn't charge me £50 for the advice!! )

Washing machine

Lakeland, Aldi and other supermarkets, I should think, sell bottles of stuff you put through a wash to clean out all the gunk in the pipes, and wipe around the rubber seals.

Soda crystals

I'll give soda crystals a go based on this thread - where do you buy them from? Do the supermarkets stock them?

Cleaning...

Buy mine from Tesco - usually on the bottom shelf .
Sure most supermarkets sell them but would, of course, prefer you to buy prepared products so not really displayed !

Soda crystals, distilled vinegar and lemons clean my house at a fraction of the cost of any modern product. But don't tell anyone !
