spiced cranberry chutney too vinegary

URGENT: have just made delia's spiced cranberry chutney and it's too wersh and vinegary. what have I done wrong and how can I fix it please?

Did you use the right quantity of sugar? Could you boil it up & add some more?

Leave it to mature for a few months and it'll be delicious!

Time to mature.

Some chutneys can be eaten straight away , but the majority need time to mature.
3 months is about the time needed for the chutney to sweeten , but the longer it sits the sweeter it will get.

thanks v much! I did use right amount of sugar tho praps the oranges were too big, but I feel reassured. let's hope one month will be enough!!
