Soup recipe

For many years i have cherished a pull out section from a magazine which contained a recipe for John Tovey's 'Nip & Nip Soup'; but unfortunately I've lost it. Please can anyone give me the recipe? By the way - nip & nip refers to Parsnip and Turnip. I would be so grateful to have it again - it's an amazing starter for Christmas lunch. Thanks

I don't know the recipe you are referring to .

but,

Is a really lovely tasty recipe - possibly a bit much for a starter for christmas day, unless you did diddy portions.

Nip and Nip soup recipe

Hi, I've got the recipe!
4oz butter
1 lb parsnips peeled and chopped
8oz finely chopped onions
1 lb swede peeled and chopped
1/4 pint sherry/cooking sherry
1 1/2 pints stock

Soften the onions in butter, add all the vegetables and sweat for at least 20 minutes. Add liquids to bring up to a simmer, and cook until softened. Liquidise and serve.

My favourite soup ever!
