Lemonade tastes bitter

I've made Delia's lemonade but it's very bitter, I have addeded more sugar and water but I can't seem to take the bitter taste away.

Any recommendations to solve this please?

pith?

Amanda, are you certain you didn't include any pith with the zest?
That's all I can think of but hope somebody who has made it can help.

Lemonade

hmmm, not sure, as i make this fairly often, i can only guess that there was white stuff on your peel.

I have used both waxed and unwaxed lemons - just scrubbed under warm water with a new, old nail brush - used purely for food prep.

Or that there was a slight mis calculation on the sugar front, esp if you followed delias recipe to the T.

Thank you

Thanks for your help, I have also made Delia's lemonade lots of times and never had a problem before.

I can only think that it was the pith that made it taste bitter. I squeezed a couple more lemons into the juice and it took the edge of it.

Thank you.
