Advice using ready made pastry case

I have bought a large ready made sweet pastry case from M&S. I want to make a chocolate tart and the recipe calls for 40 mins baking for the filling. I'm worried the case will burn as it is already cooked.

Has anyone cooked with them before? Any advice appreciated!

Thanks!

Advice using ready made pastry case

Hi,

don't see why the pastry should burn, when making tarts or quiche you need to pre bake the pastry.

Gary Rhodes has a nice chocolat tart recipe, takes no time at all to cook.
Think it comes under a different heading in his book though

chocolate filling

Probably a bit late now but Delia's choc truffle mixture makes a lovely filling & no baking, but it does require chilling well.

Pastry cases

I freeze them and fill them whilst still frozen. Great. I think delia recommends this search for her smoked salmon tart recipe.
