MICROWAVE TECHNICAL

Hi everyone... It would be really useful if someone could explain (in simple terms) the meanings of Microwave Symbols... 800W E or 800W D.. etc... what does the D or the E mean when applied to Microwave cooking... thanks for your trouble... Scullery Sam.

MICROWAVE TECHNICAL

Symbols... 800W E or 800W D.. etc..

Never seen that, I'm afraid!! Is it on the oven itself or just part of the manufacturers code for the MW?

800Watts is 800Watts in any MW oven - there aren't different types of W as far as I know!!

Maybe someone else knows more?

Micro tech

Pasting this from the Which? site - - -
"For the past 15 years, microwaves have been labelled according to their heating category from A, for the least powerful, to E, the most powerful. This gives consumers a rough guide about how powerful their microwave is and how long to heat food for."
Could this be the info you're seeking?
