Raising Agents

I am living in Turkey and cannot get self-raising flour. Can anyone give me the correct weights for flour to baking powder and bicarbonate of soda. My scones are just not rising!!!

Raising Agents

The general rule is to add 4 tspns of baking powder to each 225g (8oz) of plain flour to make your own self raising flour.Make sure it is well mixed in though.
You can also make your own baking powder by mixing 2 parts cream of tartar with 1 part bicarbonate of soda.Make sure you use a standard 5ml tspn when measuring.
Hope that helps.
