Jelly Sweets

I would like to make some jelly shaped sweets using moulds for Christmas gifts. All the recipes I have seen(mostly American) state that you should use both plain and flavoured gelatine. Can I use a block jelly for the flavoued and if so what proportions of plain to flavoured would I need? If not where do I get flavoured gelatine? Hope someone can help.
