frozen pies

I have made some mini coronation pies and put them uncooked in the freezer. Do I defrost first? or cook straight from freezer

Frozen Pies

I really don't think it would make much difference. I would probably defrost first so that the pies spend less time in the oven. On the other hand, if you bought them from a supermarket they would probably tell you to cook them from frozen - but would obviously take longer to cook.

Frozen homemade pies

I cook both ways.

However, if i rememebr in time - i do defrost overnight in the fridge - then then on the side for 30 mins to bring to room temp before cooking.

I would suggest though, if cooking from frozen - the cooking time will be more or less doubled, and half way through cooking you may want to cover the pies loosely with some tin foil as the pastyr maybe burn or go like concrete.
