5lbs of garlic

I have purchased a 5lb bag of ready peeled garlic as it was a good price. Now I am wondering what is the best way to store it as I can't find a recipe for 5 which calls for 5lbs! I read that fresh garlic should be frozen with the skin on to conserve maximum flavour. One suggestion was to puree it with a little olive oil and freeze it in ice cube size lumps, which sounds a good idea though time-consuming. Funny how a great bargain becomes not such a good idea once home! What shall I do for the best? Any suggestions and advice would be much appreciated.
