Diane Chamberlain's The Midwife's Confession, an excellent read and has quite a twist. No, it isn't all about delivering babies (although, obviously, there is a little in there.) Granny Cool, I'm certain you would like this one.
Hi Liz. After the success of your last recommendation I just had to have a look at this one!! So I have and have just downloaded it on my kindle and shall start it tonight whilst OH is watching the football. I shall give my thoughts anon. Watch this space!!!Cheers............
I think you will and I look forward to hearing your comments.
How right you were....I really enjoyed "The Midwife's Confession" I was hooked right from the start and found it hard to put down. As it has been said, it was full of twists and turns, but made me think of how little we often know of even our closest family and friends, in this case under tragic circumstances. I too, would recommend it as a really good suspense novel. Liz, you obviously have the measure of me!!!You have'nt got any other goodies up your sleeve have you????Cheers...............
Did you ever read Reginald Hill's The Woodcutter as recommended by Foxy Lady Grannie? That was a cracking good read. I'm about to start The Memory Keeper's daughter as recommended by Elpe and Sam endorsed that one too and unread yet but just downloaded (and it's FREE) Lye in Wait - noted as a "home crafting mystery" by Cricket McRae. No idea whether it's good, bad or indiffent but hey, it's free and the Amazon reviews aren't bad so worth a try. Glad you enjoyed The Midwife's Confession. Are you, like me, reading even more than ever now that you have the kindle? I bless James for first endorsing this lovely little machine, thanks James x
This is for my next Book Club read in 6 weeks . Read it in 2 days. Being medical I found it unputdownable a really fab read . I wonder if all her books are so good ?
Have just downloaded The Siege and The Betrayal Susan, as well as your endorsement of The Betrayal, both books have great reviews on Amazon, looking forward to reading them when I've finished the Memory Keeper's Daughter - which, for some reason, isn't gripping me as much as I thought it would. It's not that I think it's awful but it isn't "calling me". I will finish it though.
