Curious as to how...

I would send a gift certificate to someone who has an e-reader that isn't a kindle? I have a friend who has an e-reader that she bought in (I think) Borders in the US (and I have an idea that Borders is no more - but not 100% certain of that). Now, I know that one answer is to ask my friend BUT I'd like to surprise her with a gift certificate for her birthday. No doubt I'll end up Googling again what did we do without Google? However, in the meantime if anyone has any ideas/experience I'd be grateful for info.

Borders is in financial trouble, but the one I go to still seems to be trading - still sending me promotional emails!! They did say they might not honour their gift vouchers, though, so I wouldn't try one of their own!!
The Borders own e-reader is a 'Kobo' - not sure which e-books it can handle. So not very helpful, I'm afraid!!

Before Google we just had 'search engines' and there were plenty of them. Now Google has taken over and we use it's name all the time, and as a verb!!
Don't like it's dominance (rather like Microsoft) but it's so good I always use it!!!

Thank you Sonya

It is a Kobo that my friend has, I'll do some sleuthing as she might be able to utilise an Amazon gift certificate - albeit Amazon US rather than UK. I'm sure I'll find some information. Thanks for your input.
