New Kindle

Did all those wishing and hinting for a Kindle for Christmas get one? I treated myself to one and it arrived yesterday. I am delighted with it. Mind you, I still have a number of hard copy books to get through too so will be dividing my time over the next while.
How are the rest of you finding yours - presuming your Christmas wish list came true!

New Kindle.

Father Christmas was kind enough to leave me a kindle. In spite of my apprehensions, I am a convert, and have actually ordered some more books this afternoon, for future holiday reading. Like most I suspect I still have shelves groaning with unread books, but I am smug in the knowledge that when I go away to the Orkney in the summer, my Library will be in my handbag, and not 8 paperbacks in a Tesco shopping bag. Modern technology comes to a "Mouldy Oldie"!!!

Kindle

I absolutely love mine and the only problem I have is that not all books are available in Kindle editions (yet) - not really a "problem" as such and there is plenty out there to download. Having the Kindle won't stop me buying real books but I love the portability of the Kindle and as Granny says - no more Tesco plastic bags full of books or a suitcase half taken up with them. Brilliant!

New Kindle

I was lucky enough to get a Samsung E65 reader for Christmas(not such a snappy name as a Kindle I know) and I love it.

I think I may be locked into WH Smiths but after doing a few price comparisons with Amazon they come out roughly the same. I was also a bit concerned that Amazon may have more titles then Smiths but again after a few random checks I found everything I wanted.

The Samsung is supposed to do various things and if I ever get around to reading the Manual I may find out what they are!

Toots.....

"The Samsung is supposed to do various things and if I ever get around to reading the Manual I may find out what they are!"

When all else fails, read the instructions! Whatever e-readers we have, I think we're all agreed that they are brilliant.

Charragherd...

How have you found the kindle app for whichever smartphone you have? Is it good, bad, indifferent?

Revisiting an old thread here and am curious as to how well it works for other mediums than our various e-readers. I had suggested to my son that a kindle (or other e-reader) might be a good idea for his wife for Christmas but they'd already decided that mutual iPads were on the menu and they both say that the iPads are brilliant for downloading their reading material onto.

Was wondering if a smartphone screen may be a little small compared to iPad/Kindle/whichever e-reader.
