"Archers" fans

For those of you who still enjoy listening to this long-running radio "soap", I have just received Jennifer Aldridge's Archers cookbook and highly recommend it to Archers fans out there. I can't put it down, though should as I have so many things planned to do today. It is real comfort cooking and is delightfully illustrated throughout the book.

I'm an Archer's fan.

Hello Janice. Iv'e been an Archer's addict since it started in way back when. Reading what you say made me remember that I bought a book of Jennifer Aldridge's called "The Archers' Pantry" back in 1997. As you say, great comfort cooking!! Thanks for reminding me I had it - I'm looking atit again with fresh eye's.
I going to have to get this latest one.
I see you live in the U.S. I lived in New York for over three years in the ninety's. Couldn't get "The Archer's"
there, so my Mother used to write weekly and give me a brief on the week's events. How sad it that???????

Life is on hold from 10 to 11.15 am every Sunday. I tend to do the ironing / prep veg. whatever.
Nobody, but nobody enters the kitchen, friends know not to call. Totally my time.

Sid dying a bit of a shock though !
And can someone strangle Susan.

Archers.

Can I just say, and I know I will get told off..................

WHAT A LOAD OF RUBBISH!!!!!!!!!!!!

The fact that the BBC insist on putting TELEVISION license money into a format that died 60 years ago (radio!) is why I refuse to buy one!!!!!!!!

Radio is rubbish and should be abolished ASAP. Gawd knows, I may tune in and here the "dulcit tones" of Terry Wogan. SHOOT HIM AT DAWN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry!

Archers

Calm down James - did you have a few glasses of vino before writing that?!!!!!!

I never listened to the Archers when I was in UK, but don't think you can condemn all radio like that.
It can't all be rubbish!! There are so many different things on radio - surely you like something!!

Agree about Terry Wogan though. Surprised he's still going (not for much longer if James can get a gun!!)

Sonya!

Guilty as charged!!!!!!!!!

However, I do really detest the radio!

Some idiot talking rubbish in between playing musc that you may or may not like. why chance it, just put a cd on that you KNOW you like???????

Radio is an outdated medium that just does not compute in my mind at all. Hate it!

On the wine charge, yep, I really should not go on the pooter after three glasses with my neighbour!

3 glasses or more.....

Should make no difference !

Radio, especially the World Service is a lifeline to many people around the world. And long may it continue.

radio

Good programme on Neanderthals this morning, on Melvyn Bragg's "In Our Time." Agree radio has dumbed down hugely since 50s and 60s. Had an hour-long "Scientifically Speaking" reduced to 30minutes of "Science Now", etc etc.

radio

think it's bad there James - come and listen to it here - Lord! There's rules about having to have a certain percentage of Canadian singers played. So that's Celine Dion (arrgh) Bryan Adams...err....

oh yes - Country Music. Ye ha.

oh and to be a DJ here you have to have had your personality removed.
