Bought on your recommendation and am loving it. Also got Angel and will pass it on to 14-year-old grand-daughter, a funny and sad read.

Gerry.

So glad you are enjoying / have enjoyed them.

The book thief seems to be a bit like marmite, people seem to really enjoy it or think its a load of tat. I firmly enjoyed it myself.

I suppose I was about 14 or 15 when I first read Angel too. My copy here is knackered. As you will now know, its an easy read, and sometimes I don't want anything heavy, its good to alter I think.

Anyway, glad you are pleased with them!

Did you read Child 44? We bought it at the same time, I remember.

JAMES

Gerry.

Yes, I did read Child 44, and enjoyed it. Think I posted it on to Liz if I remember rightly, could hve been someone else though.

What did you think, Gerry. As I said, I enjoyed it, but had worked it out by about hlf way through the book........

James, clue's all in Chapter 1. He's written 2 more since, Leo as CMP.
Wondering whether to email Squatter Brown the tel. no of Pickfords Removals. Still suffering election depression here.

Pickfords!

I understand they are a tad expensive for someone who is soon to be unemployed..............

OK...which of you phoned Pickfords?

It worked - but maybe not soon enough!

It was me you posted Child 44 to James and I thoroughly enjoyed it and I then passed it on to my SIL who said she couldn't make head nor tail of it. She surprises me at times because things I think she won't like, she loves and then she'll go the opposite way. Ah well, it wouldn't do if we were all alike.

Am currently reading the Cult of Osiris - this is one I "think" SIL will love - there again .....

Pickfords? Seems to me that we need a stronger removal service. Like Rentokill perhaps.

Pickfords and Rentokil

are too good. Space in the Tower of London if HM puts her royal foot down.

Space in the Tower

I totally agree Gerry. If I was Her Maj., I'd be inclined to be wanting some heads lopped off - shame we can't do that anymore in some cases!

OH tells me I'm a bloodthirsty woman who would put Maggie Thatcher to shame. Moi? I keep telling him that I'm trying to head into (eventually) the sweet little old lady territory - he tells me there is little hope of that!
