The Lovely Bones

...by Alice Sebold.
Not the usual style of book I like to read but this is a very good read. It is about a 14 year old girl who was raped and murdered and the effect it had on her family and close friends. I believe it is also a film.

The Lovely Bones

Hi Jayne, I really enjoyed this book too, so went to see the film recently. What a let down, don't go! It was so sentimentalised, if you saw this first you wouldn't read the book. It was silly, shallow and not well portrayed at all.

The Lovely Bones

I found this book difficult to read especially the beginning chapters. Brilliantly written though. I haven't seen the movie. I heard the same, that it wasn't as good. I usually find that the book is nearly always better than the film anyway.

The Lovely Bones

I read this book a few years ago on holiday. Did enjoy it , as it is very touching. At the end I was crying my eyes out, and hubby was mystified as to why I wanted to take something on holiday that would make me so sad.
