Audible and "The Help"

Hello!
I just wanted to recommend "Audible". In case you don't know it's for downloading audio books. I pay a smallish amount each month and I get to download 1 book, and then there are lots of special offers for subscribers to get books cheaply. I love it . . . It has transformed my moaning and grumbling about domestic drudgery!!! I have a small speaker which I attach to my phone and I move it around as I'm doing house work etc. My ironing pile has never been so low!

I've listened to lots but I'm currently listening to "the Help". I think it's a book that everyone should read. The narrators are brilliant and completely bring it to life.

Does anyone else use it? Or has anyone else read "the help"
?

"The Help"

I read 'The Help' a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. A really good read.
Haven't seen the film but have heard that it's a good adaptation of the book - better than a lot of attempts to turn books into films!!

'The Help' was discussed last year - I'll 'bump' up the thread for you

The Help

I don't know about Audible, but I loved The Help, in fact, I thought it was the best book I read last year.

The description of the way people were treated was fascinating, and hard to believe, that when you think about it, it wasn't really that long ago. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it, but I thought the ending was fab.

I really enjoyed the film too and thought they did a good job.

Hope you are enjoying it!

Audible and "The Help"

I've nearly finished it . . . but yes . . . don't spoil it!
Definitely have a look at Audible. Authors sometimes read their own work, which I like. I listened to Barbara Kingsolver reading "Flight Behavour" which I also thought was brilliant.

The Help

I read The Help a couple of years ago - it was OK, but I didn't love it. And I guessed 'The Secret' straight away (which probably proves that I have a warped mind!! )

I haven't listened to many audio books at all, maybe two or three, but I would like to get some. I also record Radio 4 plays and series, and listen to those in the evenings (usually wake up drooling, having heard only the first ten minutes!)
