book club

Haven't read that one but it's my book club tonight so I'm looking forward to the next choice. Do you always have fiction? Ours varies quite a bit - was Driving over Lemons for August.

We've just read a fantasy book, Elric of Melniborne - has anybody read any?

I really enjoyed it... I'm not a reader of fantasy (apart from Tolkien), I would read the rest in the series.

Next month is Margaret Attwood's A Handmaid's Tale - which I've read before and enjoyed thoroughly - attwood can do no wrong in my book!

We meet the last Wednesday in the month at one of our houses for tea and cake/biscuits. We are reading Joanne Harris's Gentlemen & Players this month. Have only just started it and not sure about it yet. Cx

new book

I've read that one - quite different to Chocolat - and I think you need to be quite a way through it to see all the links. Our new book is Away From You by Melanie Finn, her first novel. I seem to have read a few lately set in Africa! Anyone got comments on this one?

Gentlemen and Players

Thank goodness it is not just me Elpe. I almost feel like I need to go back and start the book from the beginning again to make more sense of it. My OH is an ex teacher and I think he will enjoy reading it after me. Cx
