Call the Midwife

Just downloaded this for my Kindle. Its fascinating. True story of a midwife in London in the 50's.
Life was unbelievably tough to say the least.

I watched the telly series too which was brilliant.

I also loved both the book and TV programme .
I trained as a Midwife in 1970 and did deliver on the district like the programme showed . Remember once we delivered by the street lights as no lights in the house . Times have changed .

Me too! Got it on my Kindle and loved it on TV. Miranda Hart was just perfect for her role.

Ladies
Thanks for the recommendation. Unfortunately I missed the TV series when it was on but have now downloaded the book. Looking forward to reading it.
